For those of you who like watching foreign films like me, the Philippines made, “Live Show” is a good one to rent. It has nudity. And it shows the Philippines outside of where the hotels are, the real under belly of Manila and it captures the Manila slums, those places President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo doesn’t want people to know about (it was actually filmed in them) with their rusting tin roofs, terrible living conditions, and beautiful filipina women who often got but one thing to sell — that which is between their legs…
This movie was banned in the Philippines because, well, I guess the Philippines didn’t want people to see the sadness that is sometimes a prostitute’s life. It’s not too politically correct, not a documentary as described by Netflix, and in the ending it sums up prostitution as neither good or bad, my personal opinion of prostitution. It just tells the life story common among prostitutes and more so explores poverty as the main reason for prostitution, which is without question true.
However, for those of you who visit prostitutes in the Philippines, something I’m not against either, this movie should remind you that these young women are humans, have feelings, and they should be treated respectfully and kind. Their lives are without a doubt sad stories, so tip them well you cheap sons of bitches!! (haha)
Actresses in this movie are; Klaudia Koronel, Hazel Espinoza, and Ana Capri.
